Gokyo Peak (or Gokyo Ri) is located in the Khumbu region of the Himalayas. It is placed on the west side of the Ngozumpa glacier, which is the largest glacier in Nepal. It is the neighboring region of where Mt. Everest and all the giant peaks that surround it rest. As you trek closer to Everest's basecamp there is an alternate route called The Gokyo Trek. This eventually leads you to the hamlet of Gokyo which is surrounded by the beautiful Gokyo Lakes. From Gokyo you can trek to Gokyo Ri. The trek takes about 2-3 hours to reach the peak. From the summit of Gokyo Ri it is possible to see four 8,000-metre peaks (26,000+ ft): Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and Cho Oyu presenting a remarkable and unforgettable view.
